About Babel

Babel is a specialist public relations and social media agency launched in 2006 to provide services to the telecoms, media, technology and related sectors. The company was formed by Ian Hood and Narelle Morrison, two of the Europe's most experienced TMT sector consultants. Since its launch Babel has grown quickly on the back of unique industry knowledge, a creative approach, dedication to client service and results based delivery. The company delivers world class corporate and consumer campaigns to a range of challenger and established brands. Those campaigns are implemented across Europe and, via affiliate agencies, across the world. We marry traditional PR with a uniquely commercial approach to social media to create campaigns that consistently deliver the required result.

Ian

Ian's focus at Babel is on the design and implementation of creative and effective public relations campaigns for companies both large and small. His extensive experience includes strategic and tactical development for household names like Dell, Google and Tiscali, as well as campaign design and implementation for other leading companies and organisations including the Direct Marketing Association, the Digital TV Group, TVonics and Airvana.

Before launching Babel, as business development director at one of Europe's largest technology PR agencies, Ian designed a range of award winning campaigns and was instrumental in spearheading record growth. Prior to this Ian headed his own corporate communications & investor relations consultancy providing high level strategic advice to companies including UK cable operator NTL, Dell's EMEA division and THUS plc when he advised the company on a communications strategy for its highly successful IPO.

Ian was formerly director of communications & investor relations at cable TV company Telewest Communications plc where he took the lead communications role in a series of re-financing and M&A initiatives in addition to significantly raising the profile of the company and its senior management team. While at Telewest Ian designed and implemented the communications programme surrounding the launch of the company's digital television and broadband Internet services.
